About The Position

Job Title : Registered Respiratory Therapist

Shift : 6 : 45 PM - 7 : 15 AM

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : 1+ year of recent experience working as a licensed RRT required.

License : Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license.

Certifications : BLS - AHA, ACLS, PALS

Must-Have : Active New Jersey license (no temp), every other weekend required, holidays required.

Description :

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides and administers all aspects of respiratory care therapy and supportive equipment as stated in the department policy and procedure manual.

Responsibilities include providing respiratory therapy under medical direction.

This involves education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system.

Assists with intubation, as well as ventilator set-up and management.

Gathers all information necessary to properly evaluate the patient’s needs.

Engages in patient-specific disease education and consultations with other healthcare professionals, as appropriate.

Develops rapport and mutual respect with patients / caregivers, as well as team members.

Fosters an optimum environment in support of goal achievement.

Documents education provided to patients / caregivers based on identified needs in an understandable manner.

Performs other duties and / or projects as assigned.

Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 5 lbs., and stands for a minimum of 1 hour per day.

Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors is required.

The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs is essential.

A strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of patients and their caregivers is vital.

An exceptional focus on teamwork and a passion for delivering the highest quality of care is expected.
