Amazon LEO is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
You will join a multi-discipline team responsible for development for optical communication system between satellites. You will be responsible for design build and verification of custom optical metrology stations used to build test and manufacture optical Intersatellite link systems.
Key job responsibilities
Design build and qualify optical metrology stations for build test and manufacturing of optical Intersatellite link system.
Develop clear understanding of optical tests needed for qualifying optical systems
Conduct optical module design validation test and prepare optical test engineering report for Program Reviews as requested.
Analyze technical problems arising in optical testing and manufacturing and develop optimal strategies for solving them.
Develop new and improve existing optical measurement methods using optical metrology equipment like interferometer camera imaging systems Hart-Mann sensor for optical module integration alignment and testing.
Analyze and propose new solutions to optical systems.
Write MATLAB / Python scripts to analyze and plot data required for stakeholder review.
Develop measurement process and procedures for volume manufacturing and transfer it production team.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128600 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $213600 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
