TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER / Trauma RN in Meridian, Idaho, 83642!

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Shift : 12 Hour Nights

Hours per Shift : 12 Hours

Experience : Minimum of 2 years required

License : Valid Nursing License Required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC

Must-Have :

  • Minimum of 2.5 years of experience in Emergency Department
  • Experience in a larger urban hospital setting preferred
  • Trauma experience is a plus

Description :

The nurse will work in the Emergency Department.

The department is designated as Trauma Level IV, STEMI Level I, and Stroke Level II.

They are in the process of upgrading to Level III Trauma designation.

The Emergency Department consists of 45 beds, including hallway beds and vertical rooms.

There is one trauma bay, one resuscitation bay, and one cardiac room.

Vertical spaces are designated for fast track patients with rapid assessments.

There is a separate triage area, but travelers will not be responsible for triaging.

Patients are intermixed within the Emergency Department.

There are four psych rooms included in the total bed count.

One-on-one sitters are assigned to psychiatric patients.

Security personnel are present in-house 24 / 7.

The department treats an average of 170 patients per day.

The nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1 : 4 to 1 : 5.

Common diagnoses include stroke, STEMI, trauma, and abdominal pain in both pediatric and adult patients.

The team stabilizes pediatric patients before transferring them to higher levels of care.

Common medications administered include Nicardipine, Propofol, Fentanyl, and others.

There is at least one physician and advanced practice provider on each shift.

A charge nurse is present on every shift and does not carry an assignment.

Certified nursing assistants are available to assist with various patient care tasks.

Respiratory therapy is available 24 / 7 for various interventions.

Nurses are required to read and interpret monitor data.

Imaging services such as X-ray and CT are available within the department.

Nurses and certified nursing assistants draw labs along with phlebotomy staff.

Shifts are scheduled based on departmental needs and can vary.

Staff members are required to work a minimum of 4 weekends within a 6-week period.

Staff may occasionally float to other departments as needed.

There is flexibility in scrub color as long as attire is clean and professional.

The facility has specific policies in place to ensure compliance with operational protocols.
