Empower Communication and Transform Lives in the Sunlit City of Tallahassee - Join Our Team as a Speech Language Pathologist

Overview

Imagine a career where each day brings the opportunity to provide a voice to the voiceless and nurture communication in everyone you meet. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the charming city of Tallahassee, your role is invaluable-addressing communication challenges not only restores confidence but also paves the way for meaningful interactions among individuals of all ages, from spirited toddlers exploring language to resilient seniors reclaiming their autonomy.

This position offers a remarkable chance to engage with a diverse population, delivering therapy in a dynamic environment that combines outpatient care with occasional inpatient support. Whether you're drawn to pediatric speech development, helping adults with neurogenic disorders, or focusing on geriatric rehabilitation, your passion will shine here.

Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of various patient demographics-including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations-using both standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Craft individualized treatment strategies that target both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver focused speech therapy sessions that emphasize communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
  • Collaborate across disciplines with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, families, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and families to reinforce therapeutic progress during sessions.
  • Contribute to occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care throughout each patient's journey.
  • Keep meticulous and timely documentation that meets state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional development by staying abreast of advancements in the field and collaborating with peers.
Education
  • Hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Complete a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Possess a state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based practices across ages, with a solid grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and an interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Capacity to tailor therapeutic approaches to meet the cultural and linguistic needs of diverse populations.
  • Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
Benefits
  • Attractive compensation packages based on experience.
  • Flexible work schedules that promote a healthy work-life balance with varying patient loads.
  • Opportunities to specialize in areas such as pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
  • Financial support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative environment that champions quality care and a commitment to lifelong learning.

A Career Rich in Impact and Opportunities

Here, your role as a speech therapist extends beyond therapy sessions; you become an integral part of a mission dedicated to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and finding joy through understanding. You will collaborate with a team that feels less like colleagues and more like family, fostering a culture rooted in collaboration rather than competition. Every patient has a unique story, and we trust you to play a pivotal role in their narrative.
