Position Summary:
The Senior Producer, Weekends is responsible for weekend news content across all channels, including radio, digital, video, and social, that informs, includes, and inspires. As a crucial MPR News team leader, the Senior Producer assigns and coordinates breaking and planned news coverage and is a top-notch editor with an eye for accuracy, detail, and craft for our multichannel reporting and newscasts. Driving impactful reporting into Monday morning as audiences start their week up-to-date and prepared for what lies ahead is a must. Duties include working with other news team leaders to set short-term and long-term coverage agendas. You will guide the work of producers and reporters, as well as mentor interns and fellows as needed.
This position sits in the collective bargaining agreement between MPR and Screen Actors Guild—American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (“SAG-AFTRA”).
Expected Compensation Range: $83,640 - $100,368 USD annualized. Exact rate determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity.
Work Location: Hybrid - St. Paul, MN
