About The Position
A Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Neonatology experience is needed to provide locum coverage at a Level III NICU. The provider will cover a 16-bed NICU and well-baby nursery, working closely with neonatologists and NICU staff to ensure high-quality patient care. Coverage is needed due to provider leave and staffing gaps, with weekend availability preferred.
Job Responsibilities :
- Manage NICU Level III patients, averaging 8–9 per day.
- Cover well-baby nursery during night shifts.
- Attend C-sections as required.
- Supervise NICU nurses and ancillary staff (but not other mid-levels).
- Perform neonatal procedures including UAC / UVC placement, intubation, chest tube insertion, exchange transfusions, central / arterial line placement, and lumbar punctures.
- Provide ventilation management (ETT, CPAP, BiPAP).
- Document all care in Epic EMR.
