Job Description

SUMMARY :

The Sr. QA Test Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and execution of manual and automated test cases as part of the feature and functional test activity. The Sr. QA Test Engineer will interact and collaborate primarily with QA test team members, as well as development engineering and product management to develop test strategy. All test and debug activities will be exe cuted according to project plans and schedules while adhering to defined quality requirements and reported through established tracking tools and systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Interface with GPS tracking and security equipment to test the performance and data accuracy
  • Range test RF tracking equipment in open field conditions at times
  • Test enhancements to firmware and hardware on physical GPS / RF devices
  • Participate and organize Alpha tests wearing GPS / RF equipment at times
  • Cross-browser testing of web front end applications
  • Mobile testing of the customer-facing application on iOS and Android
  • Testing of internal in-house software
  • Testing customer-facing reports for accuracy
  • Interface with offshore teams
  • Execute and modify software and hardware automation scripts as needed
  • Use SQL to test front-end / back-end and in-house tools
  • Ability to manage priorities for multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to work independently on projects when needed
  • Read and decipher output logs as needed
  • Write test plans, cases, and conditions to ensure effective test coverage
  • Ability to test black box, grey box, and white box
  • Mentor and collaborate with other testers in test procedures, process, and best practices
  • Work closely with development, product management, and QA test leadership to develop an applicable test approach and strategy for both specific products and product lines
  • Log and track defects using the designated tracking system and tools

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Has been a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or go-to person in the past for QA
  • Has handled priorities on multiple projects in the pastLikes working in a fast-paced environment
  • Understands the difference between firmware and software code
  • Has tested by interfacing with physical hardware devices in the past
  • Proficient SQL skills and used SQL in their testing
  • Web front-end / back-end testing skills
  • Automa ted testing experience
  • Mobile testing skills is a plus
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience testing of applications on web-based, client / server
  • Strong understanding of database architecture / concepts
  • Experience in agile / scrum development methodology
  • High attention to detail coupled with a strong commitment to the delivery of a high-quality product
  • Experience with testing support products and processes, such as defect tra cking systems and software configuration controls

    • Qualifications

    EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Two-year college degree
  • Three years of related QA Testing experience
  • Previous Sr level QA title or equivalent responsibilities
  • Previous work in an Agile / Scrum environment and understands the methodology
  • Experience with MS Office products; web-based products, and testing; creating test scripts and test cases
  • Must have a proven track record in software testing and knowledge of formal QA testing methodologies
