Pay Structure : Base salary of $45k + uncapped performance-based commission structure.

Estimated On-Target Earnings for Year 1 : ~$85,000 - $95,000

Pliny Crane is a full-service media and marketing department for businesses, providing brand management, social media management, content creation, and marketing support. We specialize in long-term client partnerships, handling everything from content production to ongoing social media management so our clients can focus on their business. Based in Nashville, Pliny Cranes primary focus is on local businesses, prioritizing in-person and on-site services whenever possible.

Position Overview

Were looking for a highly motivated Sales Representative to sell month-to-month and retainer-based social media management, content creation, and marketing packages to businesses primarily in the Nashville market. Youll report to our Sales Director and work closely with them on growth and retention efforts. While direct sales experience in social media or marketing isnt required, its a bonus if you have 2+ years of sales experience and / or experience selling retainer-based packages. This position is on-site, meaning that instead of working from home or in an office, you will be visiting businesses on-site daily to introduce Pliny Crane and our packages in-person. This position offers a base salary of $45k / year plus a commission structure that rewards performance, providing significant earning potential for driven sales professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Growth : Drive sales volume for Pliny Cranes social media, content creation, and marketing packages, focusing on new business acquisition in Nashvilles vibrant business community.
  • Account Transition : Serve as the primary point of contact through the sales process, ensuring a smooth transition from prospect to active client. Coordinate closely with Account Managers to set up successful client onboarding and collaborative client management.
  • Relationship Building : Develop and nurture relationships with potential clients, understanding their unique business needs and positioning Pliny Cranes offerings as ideal solutions.
  • Client Mapping : Track each clients team structure, key decision-makers, and their perception of Pliny Crane. Regularly update this information to keep the team informed of opportunities or challenges.
  • Market Expansion : Identify new client segments and growth opportunities, tailoring outreach and sales efforts to align with our focus on helping businesses build lasting digital presences.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work collaboratively with Account Managers and creative teams to communicate client expectations, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment and client satisfaction.
  • Client Education : Educate clients on the benefits of social media and content marketing as it relates to their business goals, building confidence in Pliny Cranes approach and capabilities.
  • Visit Leads On-Site : Instead of cold calling or cold emailing, visit leads in-person to build relationships with employees and key decision makers.
  • Feedback Loop : Provide insights from client interactions and market trends back to the team, contributing to our sales strategies to capture the clients voice.
  • Meet KPIs : Achieve and maintain key performance metrics, including weekly account visits, lead generation, insights, and other measurable sales activities.

  • Industry Knowledge : Strong understanding of social media and digital marketing trends, with the ability to articulate how these services benefit businesses.
  • Communication Skills : Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build rapport quickly and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Organization & Motivation : Highly organized and self-motivated, able to manage a pipeline effectively and prioritize tasks to meet or exceed goals.
  • Adaptability : Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with a commitment to delivering a high-quality client experience.
