Training And Communications Manager
The Training and Communications Manager will play a critical role in the successful multi-tenant implementation of Workday Student across all three institutions of the University System of New Hampshire. This position will be responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive training and communications strategy to support system rollout, adoption, and ongoing success. The ideal candidate is an experienced training and communications leader with expertise in enterprise SaaS implementations, a deep understanding of end-to-end student processes in higher education, and the ability to translate complex processes into clear, engaging communications and learning experiences tailored to diverse stakeholder groups.
Duties / Responsibilities
Training 35%
- Develop and implement a holistic training strategy aligned with programming milestones and institutional priorities.
- Assess, design, deliver and manage communication channels, develop content, and analyze program effectiveness.
- Define needs assessment approach to inform and define the training curriculum and applicable training modalities.
- Design, deliver, and evaluate training programs for faculty, staff, and student audiences across Student functional areas.
- Update training programs in support of HR and Finance functions in production as applicable.
- Create engaging training materials including guides, e-learning modules, job aids, and videos.
- Coordinate train-the-trainer sessions and support workstream leads in knowledge transfer.
- Assess learning effectiveness and adjust training approaches to maximize adoption and proficiency.
Communications 35%
Build and implement a communications strategy to ensure stakeholders are informed, engaged, and prepared throughout all phases of the Workday rollout.Support system cut-over planning efforts by developing and implementing a comprehensive cut-over communications plan.Partner with project leadership and functional workstreams to anticipate communication needs and manage consistent messaging across all tenants and all levels of the organization.Act as a primary point of contact for program communications, fostering transparency and trust.Utilize change impact and stakeholder analysis tools to inform communications outreach strategies.Develop and maintain websites, and create, edit, and publish clear, audience-centered communication materialsincluding executive updates, project newsletters, FAQs, and web contentto support project objectives and stakeholder engagement.User Experience and Readiness 30%
Collaborate with the project team to identify the existing challenges experienced by faculty, staff, and students in Student functional areas; prepare messages and training highlights to explain how these aspects will be addressed in Workday.Collaborate with the project team to fully grasp major changes in policies, practices, and business processes within the student functional area, focusing on how these updates impact end users. Ensure that training content addresses user experience by reflecting how changes will affect daily workflows and providing clear, user-friendly guidance.Consistently demonstrate a positive, solutions-oriented approach in all deliverables and interactions, highlighting the advantages of Workday while maintaining transparency regarding any limitations.Develop and implement user experience (UX) principles to guide the design of training materials, guides, e-learning modules, job aids, and videos.Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to refine and improve the user experience of training programs and communications.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that user experience considerations are integrated into all aspects of the Workday rollout.Analyze user feedback and metrics to inform and adjust training and communications strategies to improve user adoption and proficiency.Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree and 7 years' experience leading enterprise-level training and communications initiatives, including managing and coaching teams of professional training and documentation specialists to deliver strategic outcomes.Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Demonstrated experience with Workday or similar cloud-based ERP platforms, with strong understanding of Student administration, HR and Finance functions and business processes in a university or multi-campus setting.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong facilitation and presentation abilities with confidence engaging large and diverse groups.Hands-on experience designing and delivering training programs using modern adult learning principles, leveraging digital communication tools, learning management systems, and content authoring platforms (Canvas, Articulate, Workday Learning, SharePoint, Marketing Cloud, PowerBI, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, Snagit).A strategic and analytical thinker, able to formulate creative solutions to obstacles or address ambiguous situations.Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, matrixed, and consensus-driven environment.Strong project management skills with a track record of managing multiple priorities in fast-paced, complex environments and planning / coordinating stakeholder readiness activities.Strong leadership combined with proven experience leading a team of professional training and documentation specialists, providing strategic direction and coaching to deliver excellence in communications and training.Preferred Qualifications :
Master's degree in communications, Education, Organizational Development, or related field.Experience with Workday multi-tenant implementations across Student, HR and Finance.Experience with User Experience Design.Strong understanding of Student administration processes and life cycles in higher education including the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholder groups.Familiarity with project management practices (PMP)Agile / Scrum or Certified Professional Facilitator (CFP) certification.Applicant Instructions :
