This position provides comprehensive clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers, including direct patient care, electronic health record management, coordination of referrals and prior authorizations, and administrative functions essential to clinic operations. The Clinic RN works under the supervision of the Clinic Nursing Supervisor or Practice Manager, collaborating as part of an integrated healthcare team to ensure efficient clinic workflow and optimal patient outcomes.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : \n\nClinical Care & Patient Management\n
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and specialty-specific nursing visits\n
- Perform post-operative wound checks, dressing changes, and wound care management as applicable\n
- Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments as ordered by physician\n
- Assist with procedures and examinations specific to the specialty area\n
- Monitor vital signs and document patient responses to treatments\n
- Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition\n
- Perform diagnostic tests including EKGs, spirometry, glucose monitoring, and CLIA-waived laboratory tests as appropriate to scope of practice\n
- Conduct focused nursing visits for blood pressure monitoring, suture / staple removal, injection appointments, weight checks, and routine procedures\n\nElectronic Health Record Management & Communication\n
- Monitor and triage Epic InBasket messages in accordance with clinic protocols\n
- Provide telephone triage for patient calls regarding urgent / emergent care and clinical questions\n
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately in Epic\n
- Manage referrals and coordinate care between specialties\n
- Respond to patient portal messages and telephone calls within established timeframes\n
- Assist with prior authorization requests and coordinate with referral staff as needed\n
- Process prescription refill requests and coordinate with providers as needed\n\nPatient Education & Support\n
- Provide comprehensive patient and family education on disease processes, medications, and treatment plans\n
- Develop and deliver specialty-specific education materials and instructions\n
- Counsel patients on post-operative care, medication compliance, and lifestyle modifications specific to the specialty\n
- Support patients in understanding diagnostic procedures and test preparations\n
- Facilitate patient understanding of treatment options and discharge instructions\n\nTeam Collaboration & Clinical Support\n

- Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to ensure coordinated care\n
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and care planning conferences\n
- Mentor and provide guidance to medical assistants and other support staff\n
- Communicate effectively with ancillary departments and external healthcare providers\n
- Collaborate effectively with medical assistants, rooming patients when clinic flow requires additional support\n
- Assist with examination room preparation and ensure adequate inventory of medical supplies\n
- Support front office operations including appointment scheduling and phone coverage as needed\n\nQuality & Compliance\n
- Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and safety protocols\n
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements including OSHA, HIPAA, and DNV standards\n
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical outcome measurements\n
- Ensure proper infection control practices and sterilization procedures as indicated\n
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff\n\nGeneral Support : \n

- Position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as patient care needs and clinic operations dictate\n
- May be assigned to work across various medical specialties within the Good Shepherd Medical Group\n\nQualifications\n\nQualifications : \n\nEducation\n\nRequired : Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing\n\nLicenses / certifications / registrations\n\nRequired : \n\nCurrent, unrestricted Oregon Registered Nurse license\n\nCurrent BLS certification\n\nPreferred : \n\nACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification\n\nSpecialty certification relevant to assigned clinic area (e.g., CPN for Pediatrics, CGRN for Gastroenterology)\n\nExperience\n\nRequired : The ability to work with a culturally diverse population.\n\nPreferred : \nBilingual and / or English-Spanish speaking\n\nMinium 2 years of clinical nursing experience\n\nExperience with Epic electronic health record system\n\nKnowledge of evidence-based practice and quality improvement methodologies\n\nOther\n\nKnowledge in computers, phones, and other office equipment.\n\nKnowledge in clinical equipment including but not limited to : EKG, vital sign monitoring devices, glucometer, scales, various lab testing equipment, etc.\n\nStrong assessment and critical thinking skills\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication abilities\n\nProficiency in patient education and health promotion\n\nAbility to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks effectively\n\nDEPENDENT ON JOB POSTING, CLINIC LOCATION : Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required\n40 Hours USD $39.10 / Hr.
