KIPP MA operates two charters :

  • Lynn : KIPP Academy Lynn Elementary (K–4), Middle (5–8), Collegiate (9–12)
  • 74% Hispanic, 15% Black, 3% Multiracial, 5% White, 4% Asian
  • Boston : KIPP Academy Boston (K–8)
  • 36% Hispanic, 59% Black, 3% Multiracial, 1% White, 1% American Indian or Alaskan Native
  • We serve 2,200+ students and are supported by a Regional Office focused on Teaching & Learning, Talent, and Operations.

    KIPP Foundation

    KIPP MA is part of the national KIPP network of 278 public charter schools serving nearly 190,000 students. KIPP schools operate tuition-free and are open to all. We aim to provide safe, high-quality schools that emphasize academics, character, and post-secondary support.

    Job Description

    KIPP Academy Lynn is hiring compassionate, committed, and culturally responsive Special Education Aides to support students requiring additional academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support. Aides work under the direction of lead teachers to ensure that students on their caseload are successful, affirmed, and meaningfully engaged in learning.

    Key Responsibilities

    Classroom Support

  • Provide 1 : 1 or small group support as needed
  • Assist with lesson delivery and modify instruction based on IEPs or behavior plans
  • Support lead teachers with materials, classroom routines, and student monitoring
  • Administer testing accommodations and supervise students during extended time
  • Help implement behavioral support plans using strategies like positive reinforcement
  • Encourage self-advocacy, peer interactions, and relationship building among students
  • Track progress and assist in setting academic and behavioral goals
  • Support physical needs of students as required
  • School Engagement

  • Meet one of the following within a year of hire :
  • Associate’s degree, OR
  • 48 college credits, OR
  • Pass the ParaPro Assessment (464+) with KIPP support
  • Provide coverage across classrooms or grades when needed
  • Participate in arrival, dismissal, bus, lunch, and transition duties
  • Communicate with families and caregivers as appropriate
  • Collaborate with staff to support student achievement and IEP goals
  • Demonstrate strong, dependable attendance aligned to the school calendar

  • Uphold KIPP’s Code of Conduct : integrity, humanity, critical consciousness, and responsibility
  • Engage in school-based and regional PD and community events
  • Demonstrate flexibility, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence
  • Use judgment, data, and student observation to inform daily decisions
  • Communicate effectively in person, in writing, and across platforms
  • Physically move and respond to student needs, including lifting up to 20 lbs
  • Respond to emergency situations and keep students safe as needed
  • Qualifications

  • Strong alignment with KIPP MA’s mission and belief in all students’ potential
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting diverse learners
  • Associate’s degree, 48 credits, or willingness to complete ParaPro within one year
  • Experience with ABA techniques or physical restraint (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Google Suite and basic computer skills
  • Pass criminal background checks
  • What We Offer

    The base salary for this exempt position is $43,000–$55,000 (1.0 FTE). Includes a $1,000 signing bonus and a $2,000 annual retention bonus (when eligible).
