Summary

As an emergency medical professional, you will provide immediate care to individuals affected by accidents, violence, and sudden medical incidents, such as cardiac arrests and strokes. You will deliver pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support until the patient's care is transferred to a medical facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a representative of the ambulance service at public functions and events, providing ambulance standby services when necessary.
• Document thorough assessments and treatments using patient care charting software.
• Provide care to patients experiencing psychiatric, medical, and traumatic crises through medical and therapeutic interventions.
• Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew, responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate advanced equipment such as bag valve mask resuscitators, external defibrillators, and electrocardiograms.
• Assess the severity of injuries or illnesses to prioritize necessary medical procedures, such as stabilization and transporting patients safely.
• Follow dispatcher instructions to navigate and operate specialized emergency vehicles safely to assigned locations.
• Administer medications via injections, intravenous methods, or orally under physician guidance.
• Communicate with medical personnel at treatment facilities to receive treatment instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness and decontamination of ambulances after treating patients with infectious diseases, reporting any incidents to the relevant authorities.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs over short distances. Frequent actions include standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
