Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with charge and specialized ICU experience for a night shift contract requiring a current CA license and critical certifications.

Responsibilities Work in the ICU of an acute care hospital

Care for a diverse critical care patient population with a 1 : 2 nurse-to-patient ratio

Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 7 : 00

May be required to float to tele units and between nearby affiliated hospitals

Uses Meditech for charting

Weekend shifts required as needed

Scrub color of choice is allowed

Must be willing to float between all facilities within the state as required

May be required to float between Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro and Torrance locations

Must commit to working at least 3 out of the 5 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day)

Pre-employment modules must be completed prior to start

Free parking is available on site

Returning employees may apply as travelers after a waiting period of 3 months

Requirements Active CA RN license must be in hand at time of consideration

Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience required

Prior charge nurse experience is required

Experience beyond MICU required, with preference for Surgical, Trauma, Shock, or Neuro ICU

Certifications required : ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS

Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of ICU employment in the last 3 years are required

Cannot have permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility to qualify for travel rate

First-time travelers are accepted
