Cogent, we are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic IT

organization. Cogent Infotech has been retained by Top 10 Financial clients. This role is ideal for

technically proficient professionals passionate about quality engineering, test automation, and driving continuous improvement in Agile development environments.

As an SDET, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, secure and reliable software solutions by designing and developing automated test frameworks and scripts. You will work closely with developers, QA analysts and product managers to ensure smooth integration and deployment of critical applications.

Job Title : Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Location : Tampa, FL | Coppell, TX (75019) | Jersey City, NJ

Salary : $70,000-$120,000 per year (post-deployment)

What You'll Do :

Design, develop and maintain automated test solutions using Java and Selenium
Enhance and support existing test automation frameworks
Develop and execute functional and integration test cases
Analyze system requirements and collaborate on user stories to ensure testability
Document test strategies, test cases, and test results clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Create and run complex SQL queries to validate backend data integrity
Collaborate across teams including DevOps, Product Management and Application Development

What We're Looking For :

Proven experience in Java programming and Selenium-based test automation

Experience creating test plans and test scripts in Agile environments

Familiarity with test management tools like JIRA and ALM

Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries

Strong understanding of Agile CI / CD pipelines and version control systems

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
