Job Summary :

To help reduce the stress and anxiety of children in a hospital setting and provide a variety of emotional, psycho-social, recreational, and health related educational needs.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree and completion of Child Life Internship.

Certification by the Child Life Council preferred.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required : N / A

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of child cognitive, social, and skills development methods and techniques. Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and family members. Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children. Ability to alleviate stress and anxiety in children. Ability to work in a stressful environment.

Requires occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying more than 100 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional pushing / pulling, occasional reaching, occasional sitting, occasional standing, occasional twisting, and constant walking.
