Common Duties and Responsibilities : Patient Assessment : Evaluate patients with breathing difficulties or cardiopulmonary issues by reviewing their medical history, conducting physical exams, and interpreting diagnostic tests such as blood gases, chest X-rays, and pulmonary function tests. Respiratory Care : Administer treatments to improve breathing, such as oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, chest physiotherapy, and inhalation therapy (e.g., nebulizer treatments). Equipment Management : Set up and monitor equipment like ventilators, oxygen tanks, CPAP machines, and other respiratory devices. Ensure proper function and maintenance of equipment. Patient Education : Educate patients and families on managing chronic respiratory conditions such as COPD, asthma, and sleep apnea. Teach proper techniques for using respiratory devices and medications.
