The University of Alabama Division of Cardiovascular Disease seeks a Heart Failure Physician to join UAB Medicine, consistently ranked among the nation's top 50 hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery. Opportunity Highlights

  • Join UAB Medicine, consistently ranked among the nation's top 50 hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery
  • Manage all aspects of heart failure, including transplant and VADs, with access to the largest pulmonary hypertension unit in the southeast
  • Engage in teaching and research opportunities while enrolling patients in clinical trials
  • Practice with a mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
  • Pursue research and faculty responsibilities with flexible accommodations available
  • Work with 25-30 heart transplants and over 50 VADs performed annually with continued program growth
  • Manage 20-25 HTICU patients divided between 4 physicians in a dedicated 20-bed transplant intensive care unit
  • Perform right / left heart caths and biopsies during weekly outpatient cath lab rotation for transplant patients
  • Experience dual-organ transplantation, including heart / lung and heart / kidney procedures, at UAB
  • UAB is ranked a Best College and Top Public School by US News
