Job description

Job Summary

The Senior Financial Accounting and Reporting Analyst plays a dual role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting while driving data-based decision-making. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, preparing financial statements, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. The role partners closely with operations, finance, and leadership to translate financial data into actionable business insights that support organizational goals.

The Senior Financial Accounting and Reporting Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to the following :

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Serve as the lead for the general ledger team, responsible for financial reporting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare detailed financial analysis, reports, and monthly metrics for the executive team.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Perform complex account reconciliations and journal entries.

Strategic Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Automate and streamline financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead the internal controls program and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
  • Maintain and upgrade accounting modules and improve integration with the ERP system.
  • Support the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with business leaders.
  • Prepare financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, cost reductions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization.

    • Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure all financial practices and records comply with corporate policies and regulations.
  • Lead and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Manage company Treasury functions and information requests.

    • Leadership & Development

  • Provide leadership and foster career development for 2 direct reports.

    • Qualifications (skills, knowledge, experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university; CPA a plus.
  • Proficiency with ERP software systems such as Oracle or SAP.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software package.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger financial picture.
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills.
  • The ability to travel (drive / air) domestic and international.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, with an acceptable driving record, along with adequate insurance.
