Your Role on the Team

Position Summary :

Provides administrative support to the staff in Peri-Operative Services serving as a central point for communication and department liaison on matters related to all procedural area operations and activities. Responsibilities include : providing basic reception, answering telephone, typing, filing, etc. Will facilitate surgery scheduling by coordinating the needs with clinical staff and vendors, obtaining patient and financial clearances as needed. Maintains daily staff schedules, schedules meetings / events, generate reports. Tracks OR patient records and documentation.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications :

• Working knowledge of operating room practices and surgical procedures; anatomy and medical terminology.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Minimum two years prior administrative office experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to set priorities, recognize emergency situations and take the appropriate action under the direction of the supervisor in charge.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• Ability to appropriately deal with stressful situations and individuals while remaining calm and professional
