Overview
The Global Security Operations Monitor-Weekend STAFF will be a member of the team that staffs 24 / 7 operation of our GSOC. The Global Security Operation Monitor will ensure safety and security of the organization's employees, facilities, and operations worldwide and functions as the first responder / dispatcher when the GSOC receives emergency calls or alerts. The Global Security Operation Monitor collects, analyzes, and summarizes incident and activity data reported by personnel to the GSOC during their shift.
Schedule and compensation
- Friday and Saturday : 9pm-5am shift
- Saturday and Sunday : 1pm-9pm shift
Location : Richmond, VA Headquarters
Rate : competitive rate of pay + shift diff pay
Responsibilities
Constant monitoring of communications dashboard for incoming alerts, incident reports, or SOS callsServe as a dispatch center for overseas security incidents, including real-time monitoring and personnel trackingRespond to incoming security concerns and local incidents, and track outcomes of the requestsMonitor online open sources and media channels for potential and known threatsActively monitor a wide network of security tools to identify and resolve threats globallyMaintain comprehensive records of security-related incidents; analyze information and craft shift summaries documenting events, anomalies, or significant trends / changesQualifications
Bachelor's degree with emphasis in international studies, communications, or security, preferredExperience in geopolitical and trend analysis and global threat analysis, preferredPrevious experience working in a security operations center or emergency dispatch, preferredBroad geopolitical awareness, knowledge of global events, and cultural sensitivityFamiliarity with news reporting sources, social media channels, as well as other channels for real-time monitoring of current eventsRobust understanding of internet search engines, mapping tools, and social media for research and analysisConfidence in issuing rapid correspondence, incident overviews, and detailed assessmentsAbility to prioritize workload based on urgency in a demanding environmentStrong computing tech skills, Microsoft Office, robust writing and typingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSome experience in conducting research / analysisAbility to multitask in a fast-paced, at times stressed work environmentComfortable with high-tech work environment, and constant learning of new tools and innovationsWork details
