Position Overview :

Join Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital as a Travel Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer, providing exceptional cardiac imaging services across a diverse patient population—from neonates to geriatrics. Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform detailed echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound procedures on patients of all age groups.
  • Operate GE ultrasound equipment with precision and adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and optimal patient care.
  • Maintain strict compliance with safety protocols, including current flu vaccinations (no exemptions or declinations accepted).
  • Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and post-procedure care to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Keep detailed, accurate documentation of procedures and findings in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Participate in bi-weekly orientations and team meetings to stay current with protocols and technology updates.

    • Certifications & Licenses :

  • ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) Certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
  • Valid state licensure as required (if applicable).

    • All certifications must be current and maintained throughout the assignment.

    What You Bring :

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant echocardiography experience performing cardiac ultrasounds.
  • Proficiency with GE ultrasound machines and related technology.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to work every third weekend and on-call one week per month.
  • Flexibility to work oriented shifts with bi-weekly training updates.

    • Preferred Education & Experience :

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related healthcare field.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with pediatric and adult cardiac ultrasounds.
  • Prior experience in a hospital setting is highly desirable.

    • Additional Details :

  • Flu vaccines are required—no exemptions or declinations accepted.
  • Scrub color is navy blue.
  • Local candidates within 75 miles are preferred to facilitate compliance with assignment requirements.
