Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring an OR RN license and recent telemetry skills.
Responsibilities
Position is in a hospital's Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown) caring for cardiac, post-cath / pacer, PNA, COVID, ETOH, and ICU downgrade patientsLevel III trauma center setting12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requiredNo on-call or floating required, though floating may be requested based on skill set and agreementPatient ratios typically 8-9, with nurse aides and remote telemetry monitoring supportEpicCare Inpatient (Epic) EMR system is usedCardiac telemetry monitoring, insulin and cardiac drip titration requiredUnit is supported by charge nurse and hospital supervisor available 24 / 7Nurse aides provide additional support for patient careInitial orientation is 1-2 shifts depending on experience and prior exposure to the facilityDress code is clean and professional—no specific scrub color requiredHoliday coverage is required as needed by the facilityRequirements
Active OR RN license requiredCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum 2 years of RN experience requiredRecent experience in telemetry, basic rhythm interpretation, and cardiac drip titrations (insulin, heparin, cardizem, nitro, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine)Ability to work 12-hour night shifts including weekends and holidaysBenefits
