Job descriptionProvide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the retail or mall environment. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure atmosphere. Observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel. Assist visitors and tenants with directions and general inquiries, maintaining a visible presence throughout the location. Support Allied Universal and client staff during emergency situations by following established protocols. Availability across various days and shifts Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available At least 2 years of security-related experience is required. A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. Willingness to work at locations with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only. As a Security Officer Unarmed Retail Patrol in Cerritos, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a bustling retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, remaining highly visible to help deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence for visitors. Your role will involve conducting routine patrols, responding to situations as they arise, and delivering outstanding customer service. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for operating a vehicle as part of your patrol duties. Sunday 07 : 00 AM - 03 : 00 PM
What You'll Do :
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
