Provides clinical services and leadership in the coordination and management of patients. The staff nurse assesses , plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care according to unit policies and procedures. This individual will serve as the link between the patient, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and medical infusion.

Qualifications
EDUCATION :
BSN preferred or currently matriculating. Must have successfully completed ONS Chemotherapy / Biotherapy course and OCN within a year of hire.
EXPERIENCE :
Minimum three (3) years medical surgical / oncology experience. Relevant experience in an oncology setting preferred. Infusion experience required. Outpatient ambulatory experience preferred.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION :
A Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Connecticut. BLS certification required.
SPECIAL SKILLS :
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Must be emotionally prepared to care for chronic and or terminally ill patients and their families.
ACCOUNTABILITY :
Flexibility to cross-train and work in radiation oncology, medical oncology, medical infusion, and gynecologic oncology nursing. Specific training and education for research studies will be provided as needed In personal and job-related decisions and actions, consistently demonstrates the values of integrity (doing the right thing), patient-centered (putting patients and families first), respect (valuing all people and embracing all differences), accountability (being responsible and taking action), and compassion (being empathetic).
