We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Electrician for a 1st shift opportunity within our Bridgeport Fittings facilities located in Stratford, CT.

Responsibilities:

• Lay out, install, and repair all types of electrical equipment such as high-tension switchboards and automatic controls.
• Perform all types of plant wiring including the maintenance of signal telephone or loudspeaker systems.
• Install and repair relay and ordinary lighting circuit jobs, push button controls, switches, cord sets, etc.
• Must have knowledge of motors and industrial electronics.
• Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting.
• Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions for all electrically controlled equipment.
• Recommend and order spare parts and equipment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years verifiable experience working as an electrician. Industrial experience a plus.
• Must have verifiable, formal training in electrical theory and safety. Certificate showing completion of state of Connecticut or other apprenticeship program preferred.
• E-2 not mandatory, but a plus.
• Knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repair necessary. Rockwell Automation SLCS00 a plus.
• Understanding of industrial motor control, AC/DC, including inverter drives, holding circuits, and overload protection.
• Capable of troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and wiring of basic electrical components such as relays, starters, motors, drives, and switches.
• Able to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Use of common electrical tools such as multi-meters, strippers/crimpers, EMT benders, and threaders.
• Able to mechanically disassemble and assemble basic machine components with common hand tools.
• Must be safety conscious, organized, neat, and able to work alone or as a team member.

Position reports to Facilities Manager. Environment: 100% performed in plant facilities with extensive noise and machinery running. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
