Job descriptionEmployment Type :Full timeShift :Description :The Clinical Team Lead is a registered nurse who supports, leads and directs clinical practice. He or she provides assessment, prioritization and direction of activities to meet the changing unit demands. Following the direction of the Nurse Manager, he or she assumes leadership accountability for fostering the established professional practice and care delivery models. The Clinical Team Lead implements unit specific strategies as well as colleague specific practice remediation that results in achieving specific clinical quality and patient safety outcomes.In collaboration with the Nurse Manager is accountable and responsible for assisting with auditing colleague’s compliance of patient safety and clinical standards including but not limited to : i.e. Med Net library usage, falls, pressure ulcers, blood stream infections, ventilator associated pneumonia prevention.Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, laws and standards – Joint Commission, Dept of Health, Gift of Life, etc.Promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment according to regulatory standardsEnsures colleagues’ documentation compliance with the plan of care, medication reconciliation and the discharge process, etc.Incorporates education, training and colleague remediation into daily clinical practice as needed.Conducts chart reviews to validate compliance with clinical policies, i.e. weighing of patients, medication administration, etc.Drives outcome measures by conducting and facilitating daily huddles.Manages the patient flow process and works collaboratively to place patients appropriately.Assesses unit staffing and updates daily staffing sheets and assignments.Assesses patient assignments on a continual basis and adjusts assignments as necessary to facilitate appropriate delivery of patient care.Assists manager in staff evaluation process from probationary performance to annual appraisalProvides for cost containment measures for unit on assigned shift.Acts as a patient advocate and uphold patient’s rights.Consults and refers to other Health Care professionals.Refers ethical concerns to appropriate resources.Performs as a preceptor when necessary.Willingly accepts other duties as assigned.Qualifications :1. PA Professional Nursing License 2. Basic Life Support Health Care Provider 3. Specialty certification within one year 4. BSN required, Master's preferred 5.
