Description

  • Conduct evaluations for patients ranging across pediatric, adult, and older adult demographics using a combination of standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Design customized treatment plans tailored to meet both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver focused speech therapy sessions enhancing communication, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing abilities.
  • Collaborate in an interdisciplinary way with fellow healthcare providers including physical therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to devise effective patient care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources and training to patients and their families to support therapeutic progress beyond clinical visits.
  • Provide support for occasional inpatient consultations and therapy interventions, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Maintain precise and prompt documentation consistent with state regulations and organizational policies.
  • Continue to advance your professional skills and knowledge through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who have not yet acquired ASHA certification.
  • Certifications

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred : Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary within 30 days of employment onset.

  • Expertise in implementing evidence-supported interventions for a wide range of ages with a profound understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills essential for effective communication with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to modify treatment techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated clinical judgment and adept problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and associated documentation practices.
