Job descriptionPatient Demographics : Adults Admissions : Yes Rounding : Included; all rounding done with an APP Phone Consults : Yes Case Mix : Adult cardiothoracic surgical cases; inpatient surgical management Specialty Backup Available : Cardiology, Surgery, CVICU CTS APP coverage Support Staff Available : APPs, Surgical PAs Reason for Coverage : Ongoing department coverage needs Hospital Privileges Required : Yes Additional Rate : Fixed (Daily; OT after 10 hours; Weekly OT after 168 hours) Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance : Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Inpatient cardiothoracic surgical cases Pre”‘operative and postoperative rounding Emergent weekend surgical cases as needed Licenses : Active FL license required Board : BC / BE in Cardiothoracic Surgery DEA : Active DEA Certification Certifications : BLS / ACLS as applicable Experience : Cardiothoracic surgery experience required Other Qualifications : Ability to collaborate with APPs; telehealth not required Perform inpatient cardiothoracic surgical cases Conduct pre”‘operative and postoperative rounding with APP support Cosign APP”‘created progress notes and consult notes; add surgeon notes as needed Provide weekend rounding (approximately one weekend per month) Cover emergent weekend OR cases and respond to new consults Participate in night call rotation (MonThu) as assigned Respond to ER, CVICU, and PA”‘initiated calls when escalated
