Job Description
Summary :
Provides leadership for the administrative, technical, and operational functions of the Office of the Registrar while working closely with various academic and administrative departments to ensure institutional compliance. Administers the day-to-day operations of the Office of the Registrar, including coordinating the academic calendar, the registration process, communications with students, managing academic planning systems, and maintaining educational records, ensuring the security of all student records protected under the various state and federal privacy laws.
Essential Functions :
- Oversees and coordinates college-wide enrollment management policies and practices regarding such things as annual academic calendar, academic course scheduling, classroom and meeting space utilization, registration, grading, transcript exchange, academic records, document imaging and degree certification
- Coordinates discussion and implementation of changes in related policy and practice with academic and student affairs deans
- Leads the development and monitoring of procedures associated with incoming and outgoing transcripts
- Provides leadership and develops appropriate recommendations for the implementation of related technology applications in support of enhanced enrollment-related services, including Ellucian's Banner and Ad Astra Scheduling
- Creates the Schedule Build timeline and serves as the Section review Tool owner
- Prepares and distributes Grading Reports, Grading Schedules, and Faculty reports to academic areas
- Creates and monitors course tables in Banner each semester and runs test upgrades of the system
- Directs priority registration technical set-up, Communication Plan for Waitlist functions, purges files, creates activity timeline in Banner
- Leads the administration of student registration, records, and graduation certification functions
- Plans, organizes, and supervises the Office of the Registrar and hires, trains, and evaluates staff and develops a succession plan for business continuity
- Utilizes continuous quality improvement (CQI) to improve effectiveness and outcomes of the Office of the Registrar
- Manages department budget and expenditures
- Serves as certification officer for the College and oversees student records maintenance, record disposal and security of all student records protected under State and Federal privacy laws
- Serves as a Primary Designated Student & Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Officer Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience / Training :
Master's DegreeMinimum of three years of progressive experience as an assistant registrar or registrar or managing admissions, student records, or enrollment management activitiesMinimum of three years of supervisory experienceDemonstrated experience monitoring a business area's budgetDemonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling, and ensuring the quality of the work of othersDemonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem-solving methods in adaptive situationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment.The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands / fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksiteTarget Starting Salary Range : $90,000 to $94,000
The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications in relation to the minimum and / or preferred job requirement(s).
