About The Position

Certifications : BLS and NIH required.

Must-Have :

• PICC line management and experience with starting IVs required.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• Cerner experience preferred.

Description :

Position : Med Surg RN working on a 23-bed unit.

Shift starts at 18 : 45 for three 12-hour shifts.

Clinicians will work every other weekend.

No on-call requirement.

Floating may be necessary within the facility to meet operational needs.

Candidates may discuss block scheduling with the manager.

RTO restrictions ideally limit to no more than five days.

If downtime occurs, it may impact guaranteed hours.

Patient diagnoses include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, TIA, subdural hematoma, brain mass, seizures, back and neck surgeries, craniotomies, and neurological disorders.

Medications commonly administered include levetiracetam, lorazepam, aspirin, lovenox, heparin, antihypertensives, plavix, atorvastatin, and eliquis.

Special procedures in the unit include electroencephalograms (EEG) and lumbar punctures.

Special equipment in use includes heparin drips, with other medications not requiring titration.
