- Position Overview
The
- Project Lead
- serves as the on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects. This role ensures that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer and company quality standards. The Project Lead oversees day-to-day operations, team performance, and project documentation to drive successful completion.
- Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage project crews, ensuring performance, safety, and adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and provide hands-on training to team members.
- Partner with the Project Manager to ensure project productivity, budget compliance, and timely completion.
- Accurately complete all project documentation, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, and change orders.
- Perform quality assurance checks and coordinate moves / cut sheets for voice and data cross-connects.
- Prepare and maintain red-lined as-built drawings for completed installations.
- Serve as the main on-site contact for customers, addressing questions, issues, and updates.
- Attend facility and construction meetings as required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical or installation issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Qualifications
- Physical & Mental Requirements :

- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to present information clearly in both written and verbal formats.
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and moving up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to distinguish colors, read small print, and recognize audible signals (e.g., dial tones).
- Willingness to travel within regional territories as required.
- Education & Experience :
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 6 months of supervisory or managerial experience.
- Proven ability to terminate fiber and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
- Must meet company driving standards.
- Required Tools
- Basic Hand Tools :
Screwdrivers (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, and gloves.
- Trade Tools :
Punch tool with 110 / 66 block blades, 6 / 8 position combo crimp tool, Krone / 3M / BIX tools, butt set, volt-ohmmeter, 4-pair continuity tester, and 5-gang punch tool.
