What You'll Do

  • Maximize product value : Drive the development team's work to ensure features deliver high business impact.
  • Own the product backlog : Create, maintain, and prioritize backlog items based on business value and project goals.
  • Define product vision : Set the direction for complex, high-value projects and clearly communicate it to the team and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineers : Break down epics and features into actionable user stories that can be delivered within sprints.
  • Lead Agile processes : Guide sprint planning daily scrums, retrospectives, demos, and ensure smooth delivery.
  • Stakeholder and customer alignment : Represent the customer, negotiate priorities, and manage release decisions to meet business objectives.

This Might Describe You

  • 3+ years as a Technical Product Owner in Agile / Scrum environments.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering, cloud technologies, and modern architectures (e.g., cloud-native delivery).
  • Experience with Java RESTful APIs, and AWS.
  • Skilled in Agile tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or Rally.
  • Proven ability to define and communicate clear product vision, and to prioritize features / backlog items that bring the highest business value.
  • Experienced in leading technical teams and collaborating across stakeholders.
  • Passionate about agile practices and values, serving as both a role model for your team and a champion for the broader agile community.
  • This is a long-term contract-to-hire role, onsite 5 days a week in the downtown Chicago area.
