Job description

The Lutheran Home is seeking a hospitality-minded Receptionist to serve the first point of contact for our retirement community, Saxony Village.

In this role, you will embody our values of service, excellence, dignity, fulfillment, grace, and stewardship while providing exceptional customer service and administrative support.

You will help ensure that each interaction is handled with efficiency, courtesy, and respect.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to :

  • Greet and assist residents, visitors, and staff, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, respond to inquiries, and manage front desk operations.
  • Oversee daily office functions, maintaining organization, supplies, mail, deliveries, and petty cash.
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling, data entry, correspondence, and record maintenance.
  • Coordinate resident transportation and maintain related logs and calendars.
  • Compile and update community information such as census data, telephone lists, birthdays, meal orders, and guest counts.
  • Track and document meal tickets, guest meals, and resident payments.
  • Assist in planning and supporting community activities, events, and tours.
  • Respond promptly to resident emergency calls, contacting appropriate departments for assistance or notifying security and / or medical personnel as needed.
  • Communicate maintenance or service requests to the proper departments.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and maintain a clean, organized front office and lobby.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the community.

In this Full-time position, your typical schedule will be Monday – Friday working 8 :

  • 00am – 4 : 30pm.

  • Required Skill, Knowledge and Abilities :

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferred.
  • Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
