About the role We are looking for an AV Field Service Technician located in Northern California and supporting the region. This position reports directly to the Field Service Manager, Operations / Service.

The Field Service Technician is responsible for ensuring that Electrosonic clients have the best service experience possible by providing complete service. Your duties will include collecting information, troubleshooting, assessing the fault, making repairs and changes in support of our service customers at all levels. This role includes directly assisting contract and ad hoc customers as well as members of the Electrosonic team during and after installations.

This role requires a detail minded, technically skilled individual; able to think quickly on your feet in a fast-paced environment. You need to be able to follow procedures and checklists but have the confidence to improvise when and where needed.

What you'll do

Respond to the customer's location to perform service callsAble to quickly perform troubleshooting and repair servicesIdentify faulty equipment and convey pertinent details for RMA or possible replacementComplete preventative maintenance service calls and complete the associated paperworkProvide onsite scouting and evaluation for new systems and upgradesActively collaborate with internal teams across the business to ensure excellent customer satisfaction and superb product and service qualityCreate, update and maintain service reports and necessary support paperworkImprove and grow the relationships with customers by assisting with their technology and user experience questionsProvide clear information to clients in regard to next steps and answer their questionsEnsure service interactions comply within defined service KPls and SLAs.Provide excellent service as part of the service teamListening attentively and empathetically to fully engage and understand customer needsProvide assistance during project commissioningProvide technical support and site specific knowledge as part of the Global Service TeamAssist with the technical needs of equipment quotations for service products and / or product repairs

Field Service Technician 1

Able to identify and describe typical cables and terminations used in AV systemsAV System knowledge gained in a service or operational environmentHands on experience troubleshooting and supporting a variety of AV systemsAbility to read, understand and convey schematics from CAD filesExperience with AV tools, common test equipment, and commissioning requirementsBasic understanding of network architectureUnderstanding of control system softwareUnderstanding of DSP and related softwareUnderstanding of media servers and content streamingUnderstanding of typical digital signage systems and associated networksAVIXA CTS Technology Specialist or ability to complete it within 6 months of hire dateAbility to manage your time and prioritize as situations changeAssigned tasks are regularly completed within the budgeted time and performed to meet or exceed quality standards established by ESIKnowledge of OSHA rules and workplace safety.Assigned tasks relating to job site work are maintained in an organized and clean mannerFollows and maintains proper safety practices in accordance with OSHA, Site safety requirements, and / or ESI Standards

Qualifications

Ability to analyze customer situations, make decisions and solve problems under pressure.Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and detail.Basic numeric skills.Ability to maintain positive working relationships with management, co-workers, clients and vendors.Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, in groups, and via telephone and written communication.Ability to be detail oriented and work without supervision.High School diploma requiredCollege degree in a related technical field a plusStrong desire to learn and be trained.Previous AV or IT Experience is requiredExperienceTier I 3+ years Technical AV experience

WORK LOCATION :

Hybrid work location, 30% work from Home, 50% work at various customer sites, 20% travel outside of your immediate area.

Ideal candidate will have :

Significant experience with standard AV troubleshooting methodologyExperience with digital signage systemsExperience with AV NetworksFamiliar with multiscreen displays functioning as video wallsExperience with PTZ Cameras and streaming

SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : The employee must be able to regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift 75 pounds. Specific vision acuity requirements include close vision, depth perception, and color recognition. This person will frequently be required to be on step ladders up to 12' and extension ladders to 26'. Occasional use of a man-lift up to 40' will also be required.

Travel : up to 20% overnight travel

Typical hours are between 0700 to 1900Additional hours including weekends and overnights as required on an overtime basis, if over 8 for the day or 40 hour for the week.Must be flexible to work occasional late and weekend shifts

Salary Range : $35.00 - $40.00 per hour / Based on experience. A day in the Life
