Position Summary:
Reporting to the Nurse Supervisor or designee, and under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities. The MA promotes patients' self-management and empowers patients/families to achieve maximum levels of wellness and independence. The MA will actively engage in care team huddles, clinical meetings, and quality improvement activities. The MA will seek opportunities to learn from others, be open to adapting best practices into their work and effectively communicate those areas which they feel uncomfortable or need to improve upon to their supervisors. The MA will contribute to the orientation and development of new personnel, as well as mentor peers and promote collaborative teamwork. The MA is committed to the constant pursuit of organizational excellence and improving the health status of the community. The MA must exemplify the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy, and tact in patient/staff interaction.

Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED and/or graduated from a Medical Assistant Program. And 1-2 years of experience preferred. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Able to participate in the medication reconciliation processes and related prescription management tasks including prior authorizations.
Must hold current CPR certification or obtain CPR certification within the first 180 days of employment.
