JOB DESCRIPTION
The Interior Systems Carpenter is responsible for the layout, assembly, installation, and finishing of interior construction systems including walls, ceilings, partitions, and related components. This role requires advanced knowledge of commercial and residential interior carpentry practices, with a strong emphasis on precision, safety, and quality workmanship.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation requirements.
- Measure, cut, and assemble metal and wood framing for walls, ceilings, soffits, and partitions.
- Install drywall, acoustical ceiling systems, doors, windows, and trim.
- Perform layout and leveling for walls, ceilings, and fixtures using lasers, plumb bobs, and other tools.
- Ensure proper alignment, fit, and finish of all installed systems.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment required for carpentry tasks.
- Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and other trades to ensure schedules and quality standards are met.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
- Perform troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs to interior systems as required.
- Maintain work areas in a clean, organized, and professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship completion preferred.Minimum 3–5 years experience in commercial or residential interior systems carpentry.Strong knowledge of metal / wood framing, drywall installation, acoustical systems, and finishing techniques.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.Proficiency in the use of carpentry tools, equipment, and measuring instruments.Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Other duties as assignedCORE COMPETENCIES
