We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Yorktown, Virginia. This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations, including maintaining records, reconciling accounts, and supporting reporting processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid grasp of accounting principles.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and record journal entries to maintain accurate financial data.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts regularly to ensure consistency.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and adjustments.
• Update and maintain financial records in alignment with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist in creating internal and external financial reports to support organizational goals.
• Work closely with various departments to collect financial information and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide documentation and respond to inquiries during audits to ensure compliance.
• Analyze accounting data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Train accounting clerks as needed to enhance team capabilities.
• Perform additional tasks as required to support accounting operations.
• Proven experience in corporate tax, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Proficiency in month-end close processes and internal reporting.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records.
• Ability to produce monthly statements and analyze financial trends.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards.
