Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Google Cloud Network Engineer to support and optimize critical cloud infrastructure environments. This role focuses on designing, building, administering, and maintaining Google Cloud Platform (GCP) network and infrastructure components. The engineer will ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance while collaborating across engineering, cloud, and application teams.
The ideal candidate has deep GCP experience, strong network engineering skills, hybrid cloud knowledge, and the ability to lead complex infrastructure initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Google Cloud Network Engineering
Design, configure, and administer GCP networking components including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, load balancers, Cloud Router, Cloud NAT, Cloud DNS, Cloud VPN, and Interconnect.
Spin up, configure, and manage GCP virtual machines and compute resources.
Implement cloud monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions using Cloud Monitoring and Logging.
Ensure high availability, resiliency, and security across cloud network environments.
Infrastructure Engineering & Operations
Lead cloud network operations and maintain hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Perform server patching, OS updates, and security hardening across environments.
Automate recurring network and infrastructure tasks using scripting / DevOps tools.
Troubleshoot advanced network, routing, performance, and connectivity issues.
Monitor cloud usage, performance, and capacity; optimize resource utilization.
Architecture, Planning & Leadership
Participate in the design and architecture of enterprise cloud systems.
Provide recommendations to application teams on network and infrastructure design.
Develop and update configuration management documentation, diagrams, and runbooks.
Lead complex incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolution.
Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional collaboration.
Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and organizational standards.
Systems Engineering Responsibilities (Senior Level)
Research, design, and implement new infrastructure technologies and solutions.
Manage incidents, alerts, and tickets of high complexity.
Support on-call rotation for critical cloud network operations.
Assist with forensic investigation and resolution of security events.
Maintain operational security-report and address vulnerabilities or breaches.
Stay current with emerging cloud networking technologies and GCP advancements.
Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills
Advanced hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform administration .
Strong expertise in :
VPC networking, routing, firewall rules, segmentation
Load balancers (internal / external)
VPN, Interconnect, hybrid cloud connectivity
Cloud DNS, Cloud NAT, Cloud Router
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts.
Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
Solid knowledge of Windows Server administration & Active Directory.
Experience automating cloud operations through scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.).
Familiarity with DevOps workflows and CI / CD concepts.
Professional Experience
8+ years of experience in IT Systems Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
Proven ability to design, deploy, and optimize enterprise cloud systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud, server, and network layers.
Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring team members.
Preferred Skills
Healthcare industry experience (preferred but not required).
Certifications related to GCP or cloud networking (e.g., Google Professional Network Engineer).
Understanding of compliance standards (HIPAA, PCI).
Knowledge of AI / ML environments (a plus).
Knowledge of SaaS, hosting platforms, automation tooling.
