American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry / Step Down position requiring strong cardiac, IMC / PCU / Tele experience and proficiency with Epic charting.
Responsibilities
Work in a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit within a hospital settingPatient population includes post-op CABG / valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablations, acute CP / MI, and med / surg overflow cases such as detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, and fem pop bypassTypical patient ratio is 1 : 4 in a fast-paced environment with high patient turnoverFloat to all inpatient units as needed12-hour night shifts from 1900-0730Every other weekend and every other holiday requiredNo on-call or call-back responsibilitiesResponsibilities include caring for acutely ill cardiac and post-surgical patients, handling high turnover, and managing a dynamic workload independentlyScrub colors may be any color of your choiceCandidates must demonstrate resilience, ability to manage change, and strong communication skillsTravelers may be placed on call during low census periods up to 36 hours per contract and will receive call back pay if called inRTO must be discussed at the time of offerCandidates must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facilityFirst time travelers will not be considered for this positionRequirements
Active WI or Compact RN license requiredCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredMust have at least 1 year of strong cardiac experience in Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU, and 2 years of IMC / PCU / Tele experienceApplicants must have completed at least one travel assignment previouslyExperience administering Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips is requiredMust have 1 year of recent Epic charting experienceAbility to pass an EKG test during the first week of employmentBenefits
