Amazon Field Engineering (Fe) Manager

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key Job Responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and develop employees that demonstrate Amazon Leadership Principles.
• Manage team and individual performance, including promotions.
• Create and improve metrics, driving efficiencies in repeatable work.
• Apply high judgement to make trade-offs on competing business needs.
• Establish strategic direction of the Cluster and Regional APJC team, and influence roadmaps of technical or business partner teams.
• Identify resource requirements and gaps, establishing a regional team roadmap to success.
• Work directly with partner teams to implement new and improve existing processes and procedures, within their region and propagate globally where necessary.
• Drive strategic communication, provides a technical strategy with limited guidance within their assigned Region.
• Identify risks and complexity to unblock engineers and partner teams.
• Drive team timeliness, quality, operational stability and success meeting customer requirements / business objectives. Can identify where to simplify, optimize, and reduce overhead.
• Establish and / or streamline metrics, development, engineering, test, and operational excellence best practices. Share best practices with peers.
• Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction and Design).

A day in the life

You will interact with different teams responsible for all aspects of data centers. You will prioritize your team's activities to support data center capacity, availability, efficiency, and safety focusing on the actions that are most impactful. You will have the opportunity to work on projects locally and globally.
