Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a challenging ICU position requiring a WA or compact license, with a focus on high-acuity cardiac and trauma care.
Responsibilities
Work in a 23-bed ICU of a Level I Trauma, Magnet-recognized teaching hospitalCare for cardiac ICU patients and overflow from MICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU with a focus on cardiologyPatient ratio is 1 : 2Floating to other ICUs and boarder areas within the hospital is expectedNight shift, 3x12 hours (19 : 00-07 : 30), every other weekend required with flexibilityNo on-call responsibilitiesUses Epic EMR; experience requiredPrimary responsibilities include managing high acuity ICU patients with cardiology focus and supporting overflow from other critical care unitsBlue scrubs provided by facility or staff may wear their own solid color scrubsHoliday time-off is restricted; travelers may have one major holiday off and three additional non-holiday days, with preference to work ChristmasNo block scheduling availableCandidates may be asked to avoid working in travel pairsTwo orientation sessions per month for RNs; Epic module completed during orientationModules must be completed pre-start, with Epic module done during orientationDaily parking is available at facility costLocals accepted at the same rateNo RTO allowed during orientation week, with a maximum of six RTO days allowedRequirements
Active WA or compact RN license required at time of submissionMinimum 2 years recent critical care experience requiredPrior travel experience required (at least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital)Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred but not requiredExperience in high-volume, high-acuity, teaching and trauma facilities preferredEpic EMR experience requiredCandidates must be COVID vaccinated and boostedReferences must be from direct supervisorsReturning staff must have a 18-month separation from previous employment at the facilityMust pass a pre-assignment EKG exam with a score of 80% or abovePending licenses not acceptedBenefits
