Position : Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

Location : Lakeland, FL 33811 (Hybrid primarily remote, with occasional onsite presence 3 5 times per year)

Type : 6 12 Month Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to join our growing cloud team. This individual will serve as the technical SME for automation, cloud optimization, and CI / CD pipeline management. You'll partner with our Lead DevOps Engineer (2 years in role) to enhance scalability, security, and reliability across our Azure-based infrastructure.

This is an opportunity for a "cream of the crop" engineer - someone proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of anticipating and resolving issues before they escalate.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain CI / CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions .
Manage and optimize Azure infrastructure, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Docker -based workloads.
Develop and automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform , ARM templates , and scripting languages.
Write and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Bash (Python is a plus).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline deployments and improve system reliability.
Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks in infrastructure and deployment processes.
Mentor and guide team members in DevOps best practices and automation techniques.
Stay current with Azure and DevOps ecosystem advancements to drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer.

Expert-level scripting proficiency in PowerShell and Bash (must be stellar).

Hands-on experience with :

Azure (preferred cloud environment)

Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

Docker containerization

Terraform (IaC)

GitHub Actions or equivalent CI / CD tools

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate issues and create preemptive solutions.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in small, high-impact teams.

Preferred

Azure Certifications : Microsoft Certified Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect.

Familiarity with Python for automation scripting.

Experience in Agile / Scrum environments.

Knowledge of Prometheus , Grafana , or Azure Monitor for observability.
