Senior construction observers regularly visit construction sites to assess the progress and quality of work.
Ensuring adherence to plans and specificationsThey verify that all construction activities are in accordance with the approved designs, drawings, and contract documents.
Monitoring construction practicesThey observe and evaluate construction methods, materials, and workmanship to ensure they meet the required standards.
Identifying and reporting issuesThey detect any deviations from the plans, specifications, or safety regulations and report them to the appropriate parties.
You'll Be Hands-On With :
Sewer, storm drain, and waterline installationsRoadway and ADA ramp construction - Caltrans experience preferredConcrete foundations, manholes, hydrants, and moreLandscape, irrigation, signals, striping, and street lightingPump stations, treatment plants, and trench utilitiesYou'll also participate in bid reviews, interface with city officials, and attend project meetings—all while ensuring top-tier execution in the field.EDUCATION
Coursework in civil or mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field, with Bachelors / Master's Degree preferred, but not requiredFamiliarity with appropriate national and local construction standards, practices, and requirements, specific emphasis on Caltrans standards knowledgeEXPERIENCE
10+ years experience of diverse construction or construction inspection experience requiredFamiliarity of Caltrans requirements or experience with Caltrans projects highly desiredDemonstrated construction inspection or observation skills including writing reports, construction administration, safety standards, and meeting budgets and schedulesProven success in collaborating and communicating cross multiple offices, clients, agencies, with other key stakeholdersJoin our Team Today.
