Job Requirements\n\nUnit Description\n\nOur Multi-Specialty Acute Care Tele (4 West) has 25 beds with Central Tele monitoring capability / availability. This team cares for patients with case types such as : GI / Obstructions, GI Surgeries, Cardiac Arrhythmia, Pneumonia, CHF, Cellulitis, Wounds, etc. The nurses on this team often work with a multitude of medical devices including (but not limited to) NG Tubes, Central Lines, Cardiac Monitors, Wound Vacs, Bladder Scanners, and Bladder Irrigations. The leadership for this team includes the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse and ADT nurse. The Nurse Manager has an awesome clinical background and has been a RN for over 13 years. She "grew up" with this team, beginning as a PCA to RN to Charge and currently works as Nurse Manager (6+ years). She brings a true depth of experience since she has worked in many of the roles within this very team. Not only is she a fabulous and encouraging leader, but also a great teacher with a wealth of clinical knowledge. This team loves new grads and is very supportive of team members utilizing Medical Telemetry to build a strong foundation and springboard into a specialty when the time is right (or to be like other nurses on our team and enjoy your career within our awesome unit). Our high acuity cases enables this unit to grow SRHS Strong RNs while striving to provide excellent, safe patient care!\n\nPosition Summary\n\nThe Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) provides inpatient nursing care to patients in compliance with the SC Nurse Practice Act and organization protocols, policies, procedures, and guidelines. The RN demonstrates clinical competency utilizing evidence-based practices and research in all areas of the nursing process : assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes. The RN demonstrates thorough knowledge of therapeutic patient care, patient advocacy, clinical pathways / care maps, team dynamics, hospital systems, and serves as a resource for support associates. The RN will collaborate with leadership in developing and implementing the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System's culture, Mission, Vision, and Values. Associates are encouraged to engage and support Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System's involvement in the communities we serve.\n\nMinimum Requirements\n\nEducation\n

  • Graduate of an approved / accredited School of Nursing\n\nExperience\n
  • Novice to expert nurse\n\nLicense / Registration / Certifications\n
  • Current RN licensure in the State of South Carolina or Compact State\n

  • Develops, implements, evaluates, and revises plan of care based on physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of the patient / family\n

  • Collaborates with patient, families, and other members of the health care team to determine patient priorities, treatments\n
  • Coordinates, provides, and directs patient teaching activities\n
  • Initiates and facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance outcome\n
  • Seeks necessary assistance in completing nursing interventions to assure positive patient outcomes\n
  • Responsible for demonstrating competencies for new equipment, procedures, and annual competency validation\n
  • Provides clinical guidance to students and ancillary staff\n
  • Successfully completes hospital and unit-based orientation programs and annual competencies\n
  • Formulates a plan for personal professional growth\n
  • Recommends the need to develop or revise policies and procedures\n
  • Serves on unit-based committees and as assigned\n
  • Prioritizes nursing interventions for an assigned group of patients\n
  • Critically assesses assigned patients' medical history, admitting diagnosis and physician's orders, obtains nursing history, performs physical assessment, evaluates diagnostic data, and interviews patient and family to determine patient needs\n
  • Ability to properly assess and prioritize multiple patients according to the severity of illness, injury, and / or needs\n
  • Able to assess, critically think, and provide quality patient care inherent to the fast-paced, dynamic environment\n
  • Professionally interact and communicate with patients from all age groups, diverse backgrounds, and varying educational levels. Also, must be able to communicate and treat patients that may be confused, irrational, agitated, and / or uncooperative\n
  • Utilizes Nursing standards and protocols to manage and stabilize emergencies until provider responds\n
  • Demonstrates knowledge of professional nursing practice and theory\n
  • Assures continuity of care through effective decision making resulting in quality patient care\n
  • Remains committed to unit, department, and division goals\n
  • Support patient experience initiatives\n
  • Participates in purposeful rounding, bedside shift reports, and huddles\n
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with clinical expectations regarding regulatory agency requirements (DNV, DHEC, CMS)\n
  • Demonstrates appropriate standards of care, clinical pathways, and milestones to drive the plan of care\n
  • Complies with current policies and procedures\n
