We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Leader to join our team as a Construction Pipe Layer Foreman! This is an exciting opportunity to supervise crews and oversee the installation of wet and dry utilities in various settings, including water lines, storm sewer, water drain, sanitary pipe installation, sanitary sewer lines, and dry conduits. As a Pipe Layer Foreman, you will work on a range of projects, from heavy highway and underground utilities to commercial site work, street improvements, and wastewater and water projects. In addition to supervising crews, you will operate large and small equipment and perform general laborer work when required.
Position Description
- Efficiently coordinate job tasks and ensure timely completion
- Address unforeseen problems that may arise in the field
- Serve as a competent person on site
- Complete administrative duties as assigned
- Ensure compliance with the company's safety policies and practices
- Read, understand, interpret and enforce safety policies and practices
- Examine blueprints to determine structure dimensions
- Lay out floor plans / worksite as needed
- Determine the sequence of activities involved in fabrication, assembly, and erection of the structure
- Assign tasks to workers
- Inspect work performed by subordinates to ensure conformance with specifications
- Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements to complete job assignments
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality to increase the efficiency of the work crew
- Analyze and resolve work problems, assist workers in solving work problems, and initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
- Maintain time and production records
- Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials
- Maintain general knowledge of equipment used on the job, including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes
- Read and understand a two-week construction schedule
- Assist with ordering supplies, completing reports, and collecting, reviewing, and submitting time cards, as directed by the Superintendent
Position Requirements
2-3 years of experience in supervising / crew leadership4-6 years of experience in pipe laying4-6 years of overall experience operating large heavy equipment in connection with pipe layingAbility to carry 70 lbs. or more and frequently perform cross-body movements such as bending, climbing, twisting, balancing, and stoopingHigh School diploma / GED preferredFlexible availability to work overtime and weekendsValid driver's licenseEqual Opportunity Employer
