The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Nutrition is currently recruiting a Physician Assist to be a part of the Ambulatory Diabetes Clinc as part of the Glucose Management Team. The Glucose Management Team is comprised of a Medical Director, Physician Assistants, Certified Diabetes Nurse Educator, Pharmacist, and Social Worker. The team will manage inpatient glucose levels, provide education, assist in social needs and transitioning patients to the ambulatory care setting at discharge. As many as 1 / 3 hospitalized patients have hyperglycemia or underlying diabetes. This program aims to provide value-based care and improve the long-term health outcomes of these patients.

Under physician supervision, the position for the Physician Assistant (PA) in the Glucose Management Team will provide care for discharged patients from inpatient to ambulatory care settings. By working directly in the ambulatory setting, the PA streamlines the discharge process, facilitates timely follow-ups, and supports the delivery of value-based care aimed at improving long-term health outcomes.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland's Faculty Physician's Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education / training and other qualifications.
