Lead Engineer, Design and Modeling

This role will be located at our Loveland, Ohio or Englewood, Colorado facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with engineers to execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of turbomachinery components and assemblies using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements.
• Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerancestackups, and electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, and assembly. Provide quality checks to eliminate interferences and to ensure interface requirements are met. Ensure drawings and models are managed consistent with industry standards for configuration management.
• Perform "reverse engineering" by using scan data and creating new part models using parametric modeling.
• Ensure product designs follow standards for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Support design reviews and collaborate with other disciplines in design, performance, controls, and system integration.
• Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
• Participate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design. Advise on ways to improve product design through the exploitation of additive manufacturing.
• This role will initially be an individual contributor comfortable working in a dynamic self-directed start-up environment. As the organization grows, this role will be responsible for scaling design capability to support additional projects, which will likely include some future team leadership. Growing leadership capabilities with the role will be critical.
• Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated, consistent with engineering best practices.

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $124,143 – $184,682 base salary. Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
