Responsibilities
Providing tax, gift and estate planning and compliance services for individuals and related trusts
Continuously expanding individual, gift, trust and estate tax planning and consulting knowledge, as well as overall professional development
Developing and sustaining excellent client relationships to a level of becoming a trusted advisor
Identifying issues and recommending creative solutions to complex client issues
Managing client engagements to achieve optimum service expectations
Developing and growing a business network with referral relationships, potential clients, and organizations to attract new business
Holding yourself and others accountable for business development goals
Recruiting, developing, and motivating team members
Creating a highly collaborative environment in which team members reach out to others for input and ideas
Promoting a culture of engagement, inclusion, and accountability for the organization’s core values and competencies for the teams that you lead.
Setting and achieving stretch goals on a periodic basis that increases your value and contribution to the organization
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Law; Master’s degree in Tax / LLM in Tax, preferred
7+ years of recent public accounting firm experience working with individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates, including managing multiple projects and customer engagements
CPA certification required
Leadership and project / team management skills
Excellent communication and networking acumen
Ability to manage and grow strong customer relationships
Experience with tax software and technologyWe see this role as a future leader in our firm and are looking for someone motivated to take the next step in their career.We are looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join our High Net Worth (aka Family Wealth Services) tax practice. This candidate will consult on complex gifting and estate planning, as well as oversee the tax preparation process primarily for high-net-worth individuals, related family partnerships and trust tax returns to ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations. Tasks will also include business development, leading a team, technical review, quarterly and year-end consulting, identifying tax issues and providing solutions to technical tax matters, as well as engagement oversight and management to achieve accurate and efficient results. The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for training, motivating, developing and reviewing the work of their team.
