About The Position

• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• First-time travelers are welcome.

Description :

This position involves providing care in a telemetry unit.

The unit consists of 20 private rooms.

The nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 5-6 for both day and night shifts.

Charge Nurse duties may vary and may require floating between floors.

When fully staffed, the unit has 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) per floor.

Weekend shifts are on a rotational basis.

Travelers are generally not scheduled on holidays, but flexibility is expected.

Scrubs should be navy blue with a white or navy undershirt.

Natural hair colors are required; tattoos must be covered if deemed distasteful.

Nurses will monitor cardiac strips every 4 hours and document findings.

Common diagnoses include elevated troponin levels, post-catheterization care, and post-surgical patients.

Nurses will manage various IV drips, including Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Nitro.

Respiratory therapy is available 24 / 7.

Pharmacy services are also available 24 / 7.

Nurses will utilize an electronic medical record system for documentation.

Patient care includes assessing and interacting with diverse patient populations.

Familiarity with patient monitoring systems and protocols is beneficial.
