Unit Receptionist - Emergency Dept - Full-Time, Night Shift

Location : 520 S Maple Ave, Oak Park, Illinois 60304

Work Type : Full-Time - 36 Hours per week (0.9 FTE)

Shift : Night

Shift : 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM

Work Schedule : 12-Hour Shifts - Weekends Included

Pay Range : $16.20 - $24.28 per hour

Summary : The Unit Secretary is responsible for performing a variety of clerical functions to support effective communication and efficient operation of the unit. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

    • Responsibilities :

  • Performs a variety of clerical duties to support patient care process.
  • Functions as a receptionist for the unit.
  • Orders and maintains adequate supplies for the unit.
  • Facilitates physician orders-orders tests, diets, lab work, charges, etc. via computer.
  • Maintains patient's paper chart.
  • Greets patients, visitors, physicians, etc.
  • Utilizes telephone etiquette and responds to phone inquires meeting customer services expectations.
  • Computer knowledge to do data entry, graphs, memos, etc.
  • Maintains clean and safe work environment.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement, as appropriate.
